This debate never ends. Every year someone says "film is back", someone else says "digital won". I have used both, and I can tell you this: it is the wrong question.
Film teaches you to slow down. It makes you think before the frame. Digital gives you freedom: to try, to get it wrong, to see it instantly. Each gives the photographer something different.
For me, what matters is not which one you use, but knowing why you use it.
Today my prints bring the two together: the file is digital, the print is made in the darkroom on silver gelatin paper. Working in the darkroom, I realised how much I had missed the slowness of the film process.
